Top 10 Countdown - #5

What I'm loving right now is...

Passion Pit - "Sleepy Head"

I've always been a fan of synth/electropop. I was on Owl City way before he got big, and even though these guys don't get the recognition that Owl City gets, I believe they are better. This track is incredibly catchy, I find myself singing it all day after I listen to it. This is a great listen, be sure to get this track and have a listen below:

Foster the People - "Torches" (Album)

What I'm loving right now is...

Finally it's here! Foster the People's new album "Torches". I predicted that this band would blow up this summer, and this ablum does nothing but strengthen my opinion. I've already listened to the album twice through and let me tell you, it's incredible. I never came across that one song that you think every album has that is the runt of the group so to speak. Every single song on this album is fantastic. Unfortunately I cannot post the DL link on here because it will get taken down but I will post the link to iTunes. Message me on facebook if you have questions about where to find this great album!

Buy this album from iTunes here!

Here is Foster the People - "I Would Do Anything For You" off of their new album "Torches". Enjoy!

KAM Royal - "Dude"

What I'm loving right now is...

Well up until about an hour ago I was always a little skeptical towards KAM's music. But as soon as I watched this video I had a change of heart. This guy has huge talent, and this song shows it. This leak comes off of his new mixtape "Vindicated" that drops June 4th (12 days from today). To me this song is on a whole other level than anything he has put out thus far. If the rest of his mixtape is as good as this, which I expect it will be, I think we will have one of the best mixtapes of 2011. But that's just my prediction and my opinion. Decide for yourself, below is the embedded player but here is the link to the video on youtube. Make sure you get that that video up to 100K views because I heard he will release the song for DL as soon as that happens. Here ya go, enjoy!

Top 10 Countdown - #6

What I'm loving right now is...

Chiddy Bang - "The Opposite of Adults (Kids)"

I am already a huge MGMT fan, and Chiddy Bang kills it on this remix. The synth is sick, the beat is dope, and the flow is killer. You can hear the sampling of the original song (Kids) throughout but it's most recognizable during the chorus. Be sure to check out this sweet track below and grab it for your next party's playlist.

Oberhofer - "ooOOOooOOOoo"

What I'm loving right now is...

The title of this song alone tells you that it isn't like other songs you have heard before. I found this just browsing through purevolume one day. I love this song a lot, mostly for the simplicity. I like the light, feel good melody and pace of the song. These guys have two others songs out that I like as much as this one; "Away From You" and "Landline". Feel free to check those out as well, but take a listen to my favorite right here:

Top 10 Countdown - #7

What I'm loving right now is...

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros - "Home"

I first heard this song probably eight to ten months ago during football season on a commercial. I didn't really take notice of it at first until I saw a post over on my favorite blog TheKollection about it. From then on its been a personal favorite of mine. I love the whistling featured in the song, and I love the conversational lyrics used with the duet of two voices that compliment each other so well. All around good song, check it out.

Top 10 Countdown - #8

What I'm loving right now is...

Modest Mouse - "The World at Large"

Well, what is there to say about Modest Mouse. I'm sure you've heard the sampling of their song "Float On" in the popular song "The Show Goes On" by Lupe Fiasco. I encourage you to check out their other stuff, but my personal favorite album is "Good News for People Who Love Bad News". This track comes off that album along with other gems like "Float On" and "Ocean Breathes Salty". I personally love this song because...well it's hard to explain really. I just do. Something about this song is appealing to me. Just take a listen and you will understand:

Top 10 Countdown - #9

What I'm loving right now is...

Coming in at number nine is a little indie band that has had some huge hits. Arguably getting to the point of being overplayed, Mumford and Sons' "Little Lion Man" was a smash hit. This song is really quite good, and offers some sort of gauge for the talent this band possesses, but not completely. This song's catchy chorus and spectacular banjo and string segments are what I believe make this song so likeable because of its individuality. Listen below and be sure to check out other songs by this top notch group and support them by BUYING their songs from iTunes.

Top 10 Countdown - #10

What I'm loving right now is...

Alright well we are kickin off this countdown with a bit of a unique situation. There is a tie for tenth place. The two songs that are tied are:

"Irish Celebration" - Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
and
"Shoot Your Love" - Cam Meekins

"Irish Celebration" - Macklemore and Ryan Lewis

This was the first song I ever picked up by this incredible artist, and since then he has never stopped impressing me. I tend to like an artist more when you can hear the passion in his music, but with Macklemore you don't just hear the passion, you can feel it. His songs are personal but he is still able to have his songs connect with his fans. He makes tracks about pride in his heritage and his favorite TV announcer as a kid, not poppin' bottles in the club or how this place aboutta blow, or anything of the garbage. And that is why he is such a great artist.

"Shoot Your Love" - Cam Meekins

Well, to be completely honest I wasn't too impressed with Cam's new-ish mixtape "1993". I'll give it to the kid, he's young and he has time to improve but this mixtape just didn't seem up to par. However, this song off of his mixtape "Dancing with the Stars" is an easy listen. I've always been a fan of an acoustic sound and Cam goes over this sweet guitar melody with smooth verses and a good flow and a solid chorus to rap it all up and bring it in at a number ten spot. Check it out!

My Top Ten

What I'm loving right now is...

While I was browsing my iTunes library for some post ideas, I wanted to see what my top played songs were. Then this gave me an idea. I'm going to do a countdown, my top 10 most played songs in my library. This will give anyone that actually reads this humble blog of mine a chance to get to know my music taste a little bit more. So keep an eye out for the next couple days as I post up my Top 10, and feel free to share yours as well in the comments below.

The Shins - "New Slang"

What I'm loving right now is...

Well I've actually been loving these guys for a while. This post is INCREDIBLY, MONUMENTALLY important because this is my favorite band of all time. I can not stress enough how much I love this band. They are incredible to me. In fact I love them so much that my favorite movie is Garden State, for the sole reason that they had a couple songs on the soundtrack of that movie. These guys never cease to chill me out. Their sound is absolutely incredible, and their lyrics are amazing.

"I'm looking in on the good life I might be doomed never to find.
Without a trust or flaming fields am I too dumb to refine?"

Beastie Boys - "Make Some Noise"

What I'm loving right now is...

The Boys are back! Beastie Boys come at this track hard and they do a damn good job. I've always been a Beastie Boys fan, and I would be lying if I said I they weren't in my top 5 favorite hip hop groups just because they were one of the first rap groups I ever liked. Sweet electric sound, another catchy song. I hope this track reaches the same level as "Fight for Your Right" and "No Sleep Till Brooklyn", because it certainly has the capacity too. Although the song does get a tad repetitive with the chorus, I'm still a fan. Here ya go:

Cage the Elephant - "Shake Me Down"

What I'm loving right now is...

Yes, I am actually going to post a song that I heard first on the radio. I just love it that much, I wish I could say I somehow discovered in some awesome way but not this time. However, this song is great. I'm not completely sure why I love it, I think it might be the catchy guitar and for some reason I really dig the vocals. Nevertheless, this track is mad catchy and is definitely a good listen. Check it!

Kid Cudi -(R3K Remix) "Falling Star"

What I'm loving right now is...

This sick Kid Cudi remix. I've always been a huge Cudi fan, and one of my favorite songs that he did was "Symphonies". So with that chilled out sampling and a great rock/indie/soul sampling of Florence and the Machine, this remix is sure to appeal to you on a day when you just need a song to lax out to. Slow paced but a great reworking of these tracks, be sure to listen below and pick this one up:

E-Dubble - "Changed My Mind"

What I'm loving right now is...

This new single from E-Dubble. This guy has been putting out solid tracks for a while now. Well to be exact, he put out a song once a week for an ENTIRE YEAR. This series, called Freestyle Fridays, was consistently powerful and you can hear the passion in his work. This song is nothing short of that standard he has set for himself. "Changed My Mind" has E-Dubble's classic clever lyricism and passion and is a great track throughout. Definitely go buy this from iTunes, it will be worth the purchase and an artist like this deserves the support. Great song, here it is:

The Snake The Cross The Crown - "Coming Down the Hill"

What I'm loving right now is...

Well first what I'm loving is this thing called soundcloud that I think I will be using to post songs from now on. Pretty neat little player thing. Easy to use too!
But anyways on to the important stuff.

What im REALLY loving right now is...

This song by the indie group The Snake The Cross The Crown. I just found these guys browsing through purevolume.com but they already have had 4 albums out apparently. With some more research I've found that they used to be a Indie rock group, but are making progress towards a solid new Indie/Folk sound which I really dig. Their two newest albums "Cotton Teeth" and "On a Carousel of Sound, We Go Round" are both great and I recommend grabbing both. But here we have one of my favorite songs by them so far "Coming Down the Hill". Love the piano and steady beat of the song. Definitely a great feel good track, listen below but you're on your own for the free DL. (mediafire...cough cough). Check it!

Foster The People - "Pumped Up Kicks" (+Official Video) and "Helena Beat"

What I'm loving right now is...

I figured I would open up this new blog experiment with two of my current favorite songs; both I expect to see EXPLODE onto the music scene this summer. I actually discovered "Helena Beat" from a mashup over at one of my favorite blogs www.thekollection.com  and after some searching I stumbled onto these guys. Great Indie/Electronic sound coming from these guys. In fact, I heard "Pumped Up Kicks" on a radio station in my area the other day. Needless to say I was stoked because my prediction from a couple months back seemed to be on track. Keep an eye on these guys!!

For now I will have to post songs in the form of youtube videos until I figure out another way. Here they are! :

What I'm loving right now is...

What I'm loving right now is...

well, its a conglomeration, a congregation, a compilation, of things that I am currently interested in. But it is more specific than that. It is a music blog. But not your usual music blog posting new songs from new artists that are fresh, hot releases. No, this is a music blog for me, and songs that I like. Whether they are fresh out of the studio, or 5 year old gems, if I like them then they will get a spot here. Hence the name. SO, What I'm loving right now is...
