Dog and Panther - Homebody & Giant Hands

What I'm loving right now is...

Here is a great little indie/electric act for you guys today. Definitely have a different sound to them, but some of their vocals remind me of Death Cab for Cutie. I managed to find their EP for free download on their bandcamp and I got their full length album to see what it was like and let me tell you, I have loved every single track of it. Very well done, and one of the hardest things about writing a blog is trying to take music and put it into words. You guys just have to take a listen to understand so without further a-du here is "Homebody" and "Giant Hands". Other good songs by them include "Love Make", "Skin Cloud" and "On My Friends".

The Western States Motel

What I am loving right now is....

Well first off I noticed alot of my tracks have disappeared from hulkshare. I'm not sure what caused this but if any of you are interested in getting these songs for your personal library feel free to contact me on facebook or via email andypants1792@gmail.com

And second off I want to apologize for the gap in posts lately. It has been pretty crazy around here and I've also been scouring the internets looking for music as of late. My most recent and probably favorite of all my discoveries is the seemingly ghost band The Western States Motel. These guys either do a very good job of controlling their music and bios about them or they do not exist anymore. If the latter is true it is unfortunate because I love the Shins sound they have going on. The only video I found was for "powerlines" and it is on youtube. I managed to scare up two MP3's of their music so to make up for being gone so long I will post both and make downloads available since this band seems to be non-existant. If their manager or anyone affiliated with the band wants me to remove them I will gladly do so upon being contacted. Here ya go!

Wonderman - Tinie Tempah (feat. Ellie Goulding)

What I'm loving right now is...

I picked this little gem up a while ago when The Kollection released their St. Patrick's Day party playlist. I love this song, maybe because of the accent or maybe because Ellie Goulding is sampled or maybe just because it's a great upbeat song for any party or just cruising to. From the unique intro to the great samples of Ellie, this is a great track be sure to grab it for your playlist.

Relo - Sunsplosion EP

What I'm loving right now is...

These guys are a small local band from the Ft. Worth/Dallas area doing big things. They just put out this EP and I've heard talk of a full length in the near future. I'll be going to see them on the 30th at The Prophet Bar in Dallas, so I'm looking forward to that and be looking for more information from that concert to be posted shortly after. But for now, sink your teeth into this solid EP. I have yet to pick a single song as my favorite, so be sure to check them all out below! Here is the link to their bandcamp page if you wanna check that out, and like I said be sure to check back after the 30th for more on these guys.

Top 10 Countdown - #1

What I'm loving right now is....

The Republic Tigers - "Made Concrete"

Most everyone I have talked to has never heard of this band. In fact, I bet none of you could guess where I first heard this band. I wasn't browsing the web, it wasn't on the radio; it was in McDonald's. Yes, that's right. I said McDonald's. Not that McDo is a bad place, but it is not the usual place to expect to hear new music. None the less, this song is light and I love the acoustic guitar used in it. Vocals are my kinda taste and it is just a pretty catchy song all together. Check it out:

Top 10 Countdown - #2

What I'm loving right now is...

Kid Cudi - "Up, Up and Away"

Kid Cudi is another one of my favorite rappers out there which is why he shows up at number two. I've always been a fan of his chilled out, layed back flow. However, in this song he picks up the pace a bit and does it big with what I think is one of his biggest hits. Very well done track with a catchy chorus and infecting melody that I can never seem to get out of my head. Great song, here it is:

Sorry for vid, upload was taking way too long on this crappy hotel internet:

Top 10 Countdown - #3

What I'm loving right now is...

Macklemore - "My Oh My"

Well I've already done a feature on Macklemore, but it's no surprise that he is up here again on my top ten. This guy knows what it means to put real life experiences into his tracks. It is not often that a song gives me goose bumps, but three of his songs give me goose bumps every time I listen to them simply because you can feel and hear the passion and heart he puts into his music. I love this artist and this song is incredible. Listen and understand:

Manchester Orchestra - "Simple Math"

What I'm loving right now is...

Manchester's new album "Simple Math" is nothing short of incredible. This band does not get near enough the credit that it deserves. This song is one of my favorites off of this new album, and the title is perfect for the song. "Simple" is one word that describes this track so well. Most would expect simplicity to limit a song's potential, but with this track it is quite the opposite. No overpowering beat, no overwhelming over-effect'ed screaming guitars, simple. Everything in this song seems to blend together into a fantastic song, but at the same time you can hear each individual instrument. Enough talking, listen below and you will understand what I'm trying to say:

If you like this song I encourage you to check out their other songs "April Fool" and "Leave It Alone"

What I'm loving right now is...

MGMT - "Electric Feel"

This song is old, yes. But does that make it any less of an awesome track? No. Catchy chorus and lyrics, good beat, this song is just solid all around. I guarantee you will love it, and you wil download it. Just take a listen below and prove me wrong:

Top 10 Countdown - #5

What I'm loving right now is...

Passion Pit - "Sleepy Head"

I've always been a fan of synth/electropop. I was on Owl City way before he got big, and even though these guys don't get the recognition that Owl City gets, I believe they are better. This track is incredibly catchy, I find myself singing it all day after I listen to it. This is a great listen, be sure to get this track and have a listen below:

Foster the People - "Torches" (Album)

What I'm loving right now is...

Finally it's here! Foster the People's new album "Torches". I predicted that this band would blow up this summer, and this ablum does nothing but strengthen my opinion. I've already listened to the album twice through and let me tell you, it's incredible. I never came across that one song that you think every album has that is the runt of the group so to speak. Every single song on this album is fantastic. Unfortunately I cannot post the DL link on here because it will get taken down but I will post the link to iTunes. Message me on facebook if you have questions about where to find this great album!

Buy this album from iTunes here!

Here is Foster the People - "I Would Do Anything For You" off of their new album "Torches". Enjoy!

KAM Royal - "Dude"

What I'm loving right now is...

Well up until about an hour ago I was always a little skeptical towards KAM's music. But as soon as I watched this video I had a change of heart. This guy has huge talent, and this song shows it. This leak comes off of his new mixtape "Vindicated" that drops June 4th (12 days from today). To me this song is on a whole other level than anything he has put out thus far. If the rest of his mixtape is as good as this, which I expect it will be, I think we will have one of the best mixtapes of 2011. But that's just my prediction and my opinion. Decide for yourself, below is the embedded player but here is the link to the video on youtube. Make sure you get that that video up to 100K views because I heard he will release the song for DL as soon as that happens. Here ya go, enjoy!
